PRESS RELEASE

Awakening the Human Spirit
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

On June 20-21, 2013, Caring Clowns International (CCI) will be teaching a clown class for the Down Syndrome Guild of Southeast Michigan. The participants will graduate by clowning at a local nursing home. And, they will become members of CCI’s “Detroit Giggle of Clowns” headed by Deb “Giggles” Foy of Novi.

“Giggles” noted that “CCI is excited to share our passion for clowning.
While we put on two classes a year in the Pacific Northwest, this is our first class specifically designed for clowns with Down syndrome. We hope it will be just our first of many.” She added that “We clown to free the “inner kid” in children and adults alike. And, as humanitarians, we fund life changing improvements for children in need worldwide.”

CCI is an all-volunteer, IRS tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit with forty clowns across the U.S., and in several other countries. CCI is in its eleventh year.

The Down Syndrome Guild of Southeast Michigan is also a 501(c)(3) that has been serving the unique needs of people in nine counties for over 20 years.

CCI has clowned across the U.S. and in 24 other countries for hundreds of thousands of kids and adults. They have donated more than $220,000 worldwide to help kids in need.
